How we compare

Updated 30.10.2026

Suomeksi

This page describes Elecz's Finnish electricity contract comparison. Elecz ranks contracts by estimated total cost, and commercial partnerships do not affect the order. Methods for other markets are described separately.

Where the data comes from

Contract data comes from the Finnish Energy Authority's Sähkönhinta.fi service and is updated automatically once or twice a day.

How offers are ranked

1. Eligibility. We include offers available nationally or at the postcode you give. Without a postcode, only national offers are compared, and the results say so.

2. Cost estimate. Each offer gets an estimated cost for the first 12 months of the contract, including energy price, standing charges and structured discounts.

3. Order. Offers are ranked from cheapest estimated cost, separately for spot-price and fixed-price contracts.

Spot prices and grid fees. The annual cost of spot-price contracts is estimated from a historical reference price. The actual cost depends on future spot prices and may differ from the estimate. Grid (distribution) fees are not included, because the grid company is set by your location and does not change when you switch electricity contract.

Assumptions

If you don't enter your own details, the comparison uses clearly stated defaults, such as a typical annual consumption for your housing type and a standard main fuse size. Your own details replace the defaults.

What is left out

Comparisons may not cover every offer on the market. Always check the final price and terms with the supplier.

Commercial partnerships

Using the Elecz comparison is free. We fund it through affiliate commissions: when you sign up through a partner link, the supplier or an affiliate network (such as Adtraction) may pay Elecz a commission.
